Fulcrum’s range of products has grown with the introduction of a new carbon lenticular wheel. Completely revolutionised this wheel has been designed for cyclists looking for maximum performance and efficiency in time trials and triathlons. The Speed 360DB represents a significant evolution for lenticular wheels because it integrates the latest developments in wheel standards, such as disc brakes and tubeless compatibility with the patented 2-Way Fit Ready technology. Produced with a new exclusive construction technology the Speed 360DB uses the same special carbon fibre used for Formula 1 components and in the aerospace industry. The characteristics of this material and the actual production process allow us to create a lenticular wheel that is not only aerodynamic, light and reactive, but also able to transmit every single watt of power generated by the rider. The CULT ceramic bearings and a new aluminium hub, with the centre lock system, designed specifically for these wheels, guarantee a greater degree of rolling smoothness and lightness. The project was developed during the 2020-2021 season, with numerous tests with the professionals from the Cofidis and Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert teams, and is now available to the most demanding amateurs.

TECHNOLOGY

2-WAY FIT (ROAD): We have developed our 2-Way Fit technology to ensure the perfect compatibility of our tubeless rims with normal clincher types and tubes. 2-Way Fitroad bike wheels are perfectly multipurpose for tackling every situation. Thanks to a special impression in the valve area, the tubes are fitted with the maximum precision while keeping the tube perfectly stable inside the tyre. Housing the valve for tubeless tyres is also risk-free, with the unquestionable advantage that there are never any air infiltrations caused by non-ideal positioning when fitting.

CULT - CERAMIC ULTIMATE LEVEL TECHNOLOGY: Behind this project is the exclusiveness of Cronitect® steel, using “Advanced by FAG” technology by Schaeffler Group employed for the bearing races. This steel is resistent to the corrosion of the highest level until the point that no grease is necessary for lubrication, maybe just a small amount of oil. The top quality ceramic balls, thanks to the absence of lubricating grease and the precision machine of the cup and cone technology, allow to reduce the friction coefficient drastically and then increase the smoothness of triathlon and road bike wheels by as much as 9 times compared to standard bearings. An outstanding result achieved by using cutting-edge technologies in the field of materials processing. The test performed involves spinning the wheel to 500 rpms then letting it decelerate. The test results are amazing: the road bike wheels equipped with CULT ball bearings continues its motion for a full 45 minutes, i.e. nine times longer than standard bearings.

AFS AXLE SYSTEM: The Axial Fixing System is the solution developed by Fulcrum to fix the disc brake to the hub. The constraint granted by the butt area of the release mechanism, greater than in familiar standard ones, makes it possible to obtain greater structural rigidity and therefore more precise and powerful braking.
